Here’s my own bad habits that I’m trying to get rid of, although there’s a lot, but this is the major, as in major problem with me.

• Procastination, leaving the laundry in the dryer as if folding it immediately will kill me, but hey, I don’t want to take chances,:lol:
• Cramming, I don’t know why, but for some reason, I feel like I can do a lot when I crammed instead of when I have lots of time doing a certain things, this was my bad habit since school days,I guess it’s really a hard habit to break.
• Impulsive shopper,why oh why I have to discover the fun of online shopping? :-/ Although I’m trying my best to avoid it and save my money by transferring it as fast as I could to my bank.

For Hubby, the only bad habit of him that irritate me the most is using the bathroom for like FOREVER that sometimes I thought he fall sleep already.  If he will only minimized that, the world would be a better place. :yes:

I decided to post my Thursday 13 first before  I continued my search for herbal colon cleanse because I know once I get into it,I won’t be able to finish a thing :D .

Anyway, I love reading Our Daily Bread.  I started reading it back home in the Philippines when I was still in college and until now I still do.  I feel like I knew some of the authors personally because most of the time they share the story about their life and their family, and reading it for more than ten years…well..go figure :) .  I love reading the bible verse as well as the quote that comes at the end of each story. More often than not, whenever I read it, It seems like the story is always for me because it fits my current situation and I learned a lot from them.  This time I will share 13 quotes from the current ODB that I’m reading right now.

• Silence can be valuable;Don’t break it unless you can improve on it.
• The nail-pierced hands of Jesus reveal the love-filled heart of God.
• To be “in Christ” is to share in His life,in His death, and in His resurection.
• God had His people where you are today.

• Life is to short! Kiss slowly, Love Deeply & forgive quickly. Forget the past, but remember what it taught you.

• Enjoy life because no-one is guaranteed another day.
• Just keep trying and remember, Professionals built the Titanic, and Amateurs built the Ark. (and I bet everybody know what boat sank :)  )
• The ones throwing stones always seem to be the ones whom stones should be thrown at.

• Life can be complicated, but…happiness is really pretty simple.

• A weak minded person will sink to the level of those that try to bring them down and reciprocate bad behavior; a stronger person can smile in their face.
• If someones being horrible to you.. they are obviously not worth bothering about… let them say what they want don’t retaliate because it will bother them more.
• Fairy tales may not be true and happy endings might not exist but why look for the fantasy when reality could be anything you want if you take the chance.

Thursday 13: Book of the bible (Part 2)

27.Daniel – Many visions of the future for the Gentiles and the Jews.

28. Hosea – Story of Hosea and his unfaithful wife, Gomer. Represents God’s love and faithfulness and Israel’s spiritual adultery. Israel will be judged and restored.

29. Joel – Proclaims a terrifying future using the imagery of locusts. Judgment will come but blessing will follow.

30. Amos - He warned Israel of its coming judgment. Israel rejects God’s warning.

31. Obadiah – A proclamation against Edom, a neighboring nation of Israel that gloated over Jerusalem’s judgments. Prophecy of its utter destruction.

32. Jonah – Jonah proclaims a coming judgment upon Nineveh’s people. But they repented and judgment was spared.

33. Micah – Description of the complete moral decay in all levels of Israel. God will judge but will forgive and restore.

34. Nahum – Nineveh has gone into apostasy (approx. 125 years after Jonah) and will be destroyed.

35. Habakkuk – Near the end of the kingdom of Judah, Habakkuk asks God why He is not dealing with Judah’s sins. God says He will use the Babylonians. Habakkuk asks how God can use a nation that is even worse than Judah.

36. Zephaniah – The theme is developed of the Day of the Lord and His judgment with a coming blessing. Judah will not repent, except for a remnant, which will be restored.

37. Haggai – The people failed to put God first, by building their houses before they finished God’s temple. Therefore, they had no prosperity.

38. Zechariah – Zechariah encourages the Jews to complete the temple. Many messianic prophecies.

39. Malachi. – God’s people are lax in their duty to God. Growing distant from God. Moral compromise. Proclamation of coming judgment.

As I mentioned in my previous post that I will try to post 13 books of the bible from the old testament.  Last week I posted the first 13 and here’s the second 13 books and next week will be the last one to complete the 39 books of the old testament.

14. Second Chronicles – continued recounting of the life of Solomon, building of temple, to the captivity. History of Judah only.

15. Ezra – Cyrus let most of the Jews return to their land of Israel. Zerubbabel led the people (539 B.C.). Ezra returned later with more Jews (458 B.C.) Built the temple.

16. Nehemiah – Building the walls of Jerusalem. Nehemiah got permission from the king of Persia to rebuild the walls (444 B.C.). Revival in the land.

17. Esther – Took place during chapters 6 and 7 of Ezra. Mordecai. Plot to kill the Jewish people.

18. Job – a righteous man tested by God. Deals with God’s sovereignty.

19. Psalms – Consists of 5 divisions. Worship in song. Large variety of subjects.

20. Proverbs – Practical wisdom in everyday affairs.

21. Ecclesiastes – All is vanity. The wisdom of man is futility.

22. Song of Solomon – A song between Solomon and his Shulammite bride, displaying the love between a man and a woman.

23. Isaiah – Looks at the sin of Judah and proclaims God’s judgment. Hezekiah. Coming restoration and blessing.

24. Jeremiah – Called by God to proclaim the news of judgment to Judah, which came. God establishes a New Covenant.

25. Lamentations – 5 lament poems. Description of defeat and fall of Jerusalem.

26. Ezekiel – He ministered to the Jews in Captivity in Babylon. Description of the end of times.

1. Genesis – Creation, the Fall, the Flood, spread of the nations, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. Enslavement in Egypt.
2. Exodus – Enslavement, Moses, 10 plagues, Passover, Leave Egypt, Red Sea Crossing, Mt. Sinai and the 10 Commandments
3. Leviticus – Instructions on sacrificial system and the priesthood. Instructions on moral purity.
4. Numbers – Still at Mt. Sinai, people make false idol, punishment, 40 years wandering begins.
5. Deuteronomy – Moses’ discourses on God’s Acts for Israel the Decalogue, the ceremonial, civil, and social Laws, and covenant ratification.
6. Joshua – First half of Joshua describes the 7-year conquest of the Land of Promise. The last half deals with partitioning the lands to the people.
7. Judges – Time of Judges. This was a bad time period. The Israelites did not drive out all the inhabitants of Canaan and began to take part in their idolatry. 7 cycles of foreign oppression, repentance, and deliverance. In the end, the people failed to learn their lesson.
8. Ruth – Kinsman redeemer in Boaz, redeeming Ruth, a Moabitess. Speaks of righteousness, love, and faithfulness to the Lord.
9. First Samuel – Samuel carries Israel from judges to King Saul
10. Second Samuel - David as King, adultery, and murder.
11. First Kings – Solomon, Israel is powerful. Solomon dies, then division of tribes: 10 to the north and 2 to the south.
12. Second Kings – The Divided Kingdom. All 19 kings of Israel were bad; therefore, captivity in Assyria (722 B.C.). In Judah, 8 of 20 rulers were good but went into exile too.
13. First Chronicles – A recounting of the history of Israel to the time of Solomon.
