How do you explain those things that was happening lately in our world to your kids? My boys have so many questions that I wish they never knew how to asked but I know,if I didn’t give them the answer, who else? The news about what happen to Japan was all over the internet and on tv. It was so surreal and it took me a while before I could accept the reality of it. Same feeling 10 years ago during the 9/11 attack.  Everything on tv was look like a movie to me until I realized it was already a week and they keep showing the same thing over and over.

I personally don’t know how to react in a times like this. I experienced flooding and earthquake too but nothing so severe like that. It was very devastating. I don’t usually blog about, even the last Ondoy typhoon that hit the Philippines which eventually cause my mom’s death because of the trauma she suffered from the event.

Anyway, when I woke up yesterday and saw and read everything online, I was not really shock because I must admit, I already knew that it is bound to happen, because everything was in the bible and I read about it a long time ago. But it still break my heart to see people suffer. I don’t want to be sound like Mr-Goody-Good-Shoes but what I’m saying is,as a person,I feel like I can do nothing about it but to pray to GOD who knows everything and I don’t think HE owe us any explanation why HE did what HE did.

Yesterday, when the boys and  I watched a couple of videos online, My son immediately say a simple prayer of Thanks, that we live here, away from harm, that GOD keep us safe, and he also said that we need to pray for those people. True enough, during our bedtime prayer, he reminded me not to forget to pray about them. I’m really touch with his sincereness. I know in his heart, he knew that GOD will answer his prayer and I wish I have that kind of faith in me.

Alam mo I don’t like watching news, kasi I am getting scared sa mga naangyayari sa mundo. I can listen to the radio but to see how it happened and how many peopel were affected, I would cry. Things are happening beyond our imagination. Millions of dead fish found in California, then same thing as thousands of black birds spotted somewhere, then sa 2012 eh may lulubog na mga cities..Nakakatakot..I am scared for my kids. We thank that Lord that we’re safe, and I feel sorry for the people who were victims. Let’s pray for them Mommy Wills.

It is really very sad to know that there were people who are unfortunate to survive the tsunami in Japan. I don’t know what is happening now… First, the typhoons then earthquake, and the worst, tsunami!

Last week, experience din yung family ng brother ko sa surigao del sur ng magnitude 5 na lindol. they were so afraid na mag tsunami, 11 pm pa naman yung lindol. Nakakatakot talaga isipin and we were worried too. Buti nalang walang tsunami… malapit kasi house nila sa dagat.

anyway Ate, sorry to hear about your mom….

    dropping by…

It is so hard indeed to tell them about those calamities. For me, truth must be told, because they deserved to know everything that takes place in the world we live in. Your boys are not only smart, but very genuine as well.

I dont know why everytime i read something about Japan’s tragedy makes my tears fall.. never ko rin naimagine na mangyayari, it happened so fast and the tragedy was unimaginable, prang ang hirap i-explaine ang nararamdaman namin taga rito because we watch the news everyday. Buti nga, bumabalik na sa normal yung programs. Nakakadepress din kasi manood ng news :( Thank God ok sina Ate Clang no. Pero nakakalungkot kasi yung lugar nila super affected ng radiation. We still dont know kung ano magiging effect nun in the future. Lets just pray na sana malagpasan natin lahat ng mga calamities na darating. Thanks for this post Momsie

It’s so really sad about what happen to Japan. And yeah, there were times when our young children are asking about the latest updates about the world and even a simple question that it seem hard to answer because it’s hard to explain. Anyways, I do hope that Japan will recover from the calamity they’ve experienced. So many lives have lost but it’s really bound to happen.
