It snowed last night.  It was so far the first snow of the season, although we had a few flurries a few days back that basically gone the next day, but last night was the first somewhat heavy snowfall. The snow is not thick enough for a sleigh, I bet even the Detroit river is not hard enough to turn it into a Skating Rink, the skaters need to wait for a while.  As for the boys, as much as they are so itching to play outside, we can’t let them yet, Patrick was barking like crazy for a few nights letting them play outside will only aggravate it and we can’t afford to spend our christmas in a hospital.  We told them not to worry because we know for sure that the snow will stay for a while.  I’m just glad that it snowed just in time for their school breaks.  It was quite late compare last year but I’m not complaining. Here’s the few pictures I took this morning, it’s our backyard,

look at our car,

even Molly can’t resist, it’s her first time to experienced it,

and remember only to eat the fresh snowfall not the yellow one. A friend from Georgia where very seldom to have a snow told me about how to make a snow cream, just scoop the fresh snow, add vanilla, milk and fruit juice and you can have the best snow cream ever!

I will remember your icecream formula straight from the snowfields…:)

I can’t help smiling reading about the boys impatience in playing outside. That reminds me of how the girls and I had to get up early …4 or 5am, rugged up ourselves and started frolicking outside in the snow racing against time for the moment the sun would rise, the snowfield (our big open space backyard) would turn into a paddle. So we’re kind of Cinderella having fun in the ball until midnight.

The neighbours noticed our post dawn activity and they all followed suit.

We miss our life in Orange but am happy enough to stay in the city…far away from the urbanity of the hassle and the bustle though….

Thanks Willa for stirring up the memory.

Shoot me in your postal address and I’ll send you a postcard.

Have a safe season. Four days to go…

Oh, Willa, I understand about the kids cough just like me “barking” at night like crazy. The sudden change of weather is really making me sick.
Molly is as curious as my kitty. That’s a lot of snow scraping on your car.
I hope you and your family will have the merriest Christmas!
    Happy Holidays!
