I was thinking about my mom today because I had a dream of her and my dad last night.  It was not a bad dream actually but nonetheless, it makes me think of her the whole day.We were supposed to attend a birthday party of a friend’s son but I think something came up and she decided to have it tomorrow after church instead.  The sudden change of our schedule doesn’t stop us from going to Windsor anyway because we have some errands to do as well if ever, before we go to the supposedly party. So,we did the things that needs to be done ,then went to Asian Store after. While inside the store, I saw that they have a kamote (sweet potato) on stock, so I decided to buy just one big piece because it was one of my mom’s favorite meryenda (snack) in the afternoon and it’s been a while since I had one too.  Then I also bought a bunch of Pechay (Bokchoy). Growing up as a little girl, I am my mom’s favorite “Market Buddy”. I always love going to the market with her.  I don’t know why because now, I’m not good in doing it.  I just love the ambiance in the market I guess, because there are so many little things I can buy , my favorite and my mom always bought me one, was the pulseras (bracelet) but for some reason, I hated it now. Anyway, I cooked my favorite ulam (english please ?:-) ) today,Sauted Bockchoy with Shrimp.  As a young girl, Bokchoy is the only leafy vegetables that I ate, nothing else.  Whenever we go to the market, my mom would asked me “Ano gusto mong ulam ngayon?” (What kind of ulam do you want for today? ), and I always answered excitedly, Ginisang Pechay at Hipon :D (Sauted Bokchoy w/ Shrimp) and that’s what we gonna buy.

Here’s my own version, sorry about the smokey pictures, it was still on the stovetop when I took the shot; :D

Just in case you never know, my mom passed away last Januray 05 of this year, and I missed her terribly :( . I didn’t know that there’s a big difference of missing her but I know she’s alive and well ,and missing her and knowing that she’s gone for good. The latter gives more sadness because I know I can’t do nothing about it unlike before that when I missed her, all I have to do is get the phone and give her a call.

After Asian Store, we went to the Dollar Store (my favorite place to shop :D  ), my husband, a NASCAR fanatic saw this hat of his favorite NASCAR driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and he can’t resist not to buy it and add it to his collection.  Good thing it’s on sale from the original price of $19.99, he got it for only $7.

Honestly Willa, there is nothing wrong with your shot. It is perfect! It shows how steaming hot the food is!

I came from a children’s b-day party complete with face painting and pinata.

Yeah, same feeling, I miss my Mom too.

I miss my Nanay, too. I haven’t talked to her in a month now. I know it is time to call again. Thanks for the “reminder”.

This might erase the sadness that you feel. I learned in church today is death=victory. victory because we get to be with the Lord. But i know what you mean
